The NewsThe alliance that Kenyans desireSinging and dancing after successful completion of a Peace based dialogue session in one of the villages in Miwani. Kenya today is faced with yet another cycle of political impunity which led to the post elections violence in 2007/8. A group of politicians, whose ideologies are tribal based have ganged up and formed a tribal alliance dubbed KKK (Kikuyu, Kamba, Kalenjin). It is the same group which is on the International Criminal Court list of suspects alleged to bear the most responsibility in fuelling the post election violence. They are at it again!! With utter disregard to the new constitution whose tenets are based on peaceful coexistence amongst over 40 tribes of Kenya, they have gone round the country dividing tribes against each other. We refuse to be party to such politicians as alliances that are much needed in Kenya today must be based on National interest as opposed to individual cum tribal ones. Such an alliance that Kenya desire must be led by men and women of high standing on matters regarding promotion of peace, love and unity. Institutions must be given the respect and support they deserve instead of using them to advance impunity and bad blood among Kenyans. As a Convergence of Cultures team in Miwani whose one of its mandate within this locality is to maintain harmonious co-existence among the various tribes, we have moved with speed to reassure the community that peace shall reign over such simplistic political minds. We have intensified our intercultural meetings loaded with peace, love and unity messages. The peace crusade continues; take action.
